Volunteers are a very important part of the Buddy Dog Humane Society. Our volunteers are a diverse group. They include professionals, homemakers, and students. Unfortunately for safety reasons, children under 15 can not volunteer at the shelter, but they can still make a difference. 

 

Volunteering is a very rewarding experience. Volunteers support and enhance the care and services provided by our staff. All new volunteers attend two training sessions (the first is by Zoom call, the second is a hands on training), and have ongoing support from our staff and experienced volunteers. We ask for a minimum 4-month commitment and a consistent weekly schedule (same day and time each week). While we do have a waiting list, wait times vary depending on your availability (wait list is full for weekend spots, and a shorter wait for weekdays).
